Visionary (adj):
characterized by vision or foresight
I am dedicated to helping youth discover their leadership potential and power to make a difference. This is their earth. I teach career and life skills to high school students. To be the change I seek to inspire in them, I am running for school board.
I am humbled walking through nature, sensing each element as a piece of the whole. If something were missing, the ecosystem would be completely different.
I envision a future where everyone’s basic needs are met through a sustainable economy, affordable housing close to urban centers, excellent public transportation, and above all a sound education system. People then would be more connected to one another and the natural world. This is the kind of planet I wish for my grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Interview Excerpts
What inspires you?
Life. When you walk through nature and hear and smell everything around you and you know each element is a part of the whole ecosystem. If one thing wasn’t there, the system would be completely different—how humbling that is. Young people inspire me.
What crazy thing have you done?
Probably the craziest thing I have ever done was when my husband and I quit our jobs in Pennsylvania, packed up our car and decided to take a long trip across the country. We didn’t know where we were going, but we wanted to find a new place to live. We traveled the whole summer and then my clutch went out in Petaluma and here we are four years later.
